Our development team is the centre of our business. The dedication, diligence and hard work that is applied all day and every day is the key to our ongoing success. Unlike many companies all the team members meet our clients and they often communicate directly both during and after a project.

Despite the assumption that most web developers are 24 hour skateboarding computer addicts we are surprisingly normal people! Read the profiles below to find out what our key people do and why you might be involved with them.

Development Team

Alex Wren – Technical Development Manager

Alex has been involved with web site development and eCommerce for over 10 years. His experience with nearly 200 Internet projects allows him to offer invaluable advice and guidance for both new and next generation solutions.

Alex has a great deal of knowledge in many of the more complex and confusing areas such as search engine promotion and web site hosting. Combined with his project management and client liaison skills Alex can effectively deliver client projects on time, within budget and without confusion. Alex manages the Adobe Devon Video User Group in his spare time.

Jon Small – Business Development Manager

Jon has been a key member of the team since joining us in July 2010. Working with both existing and potential clients, Jon is responsible for sales and business development. Jon has over 15 years of business development and sales experience, formerly working successfully in developing the HP/Compaq and Oracle relationships into the number one alliance partnership for two years running. He has proven experience in business development, managing and planning at strategic and operational levels - having developed and launched new products and services.

Simon Bingham – Project Manager

Simon has been a key member of the team since joining us in January 2009. At his previous employer, Simon was the sole application developer whose responsibilities included gathering requirements from clients, producing specifications as well as developing and maintaining web sites.

In his role of Project Manager at Crisp eBusiness, this wealth of knowledge and experience combined with excellent project management and client liaison skills means he can work effectively to deliver client projects on time, within budget and without confusion.

Donna Wolfenden – Web Promotion Specialist

Donna specialises in online promotion management to ensure our client’s sites achieve maximum exposure within their budget. Donna’s ability to understand the complex and ever changing promotion systems enables our clients to utilise methods only normally available to major players.

Donna also carefully compiles the monthly management and promotion reports and will offer her professional view on activities to both the client and other members of the team.

John Whish – Head Application Developer

Unlike many web developers, John’s commercial sense and strong communication skills have enabled clients to achieve far more with their web site than is usually possible. The attention to detail applied to every aspect of system architecture, database design and coding ensures maximum speed and compatibility with the minimum of errors.

John’s responsibilities include the structure and functionality behind every web site or eCommerce solution and he will often be involved with larger projects to offer technical consultancy and practical advice. John is an Adobe Certified Expert in Advanced ColdFusion and manages the Adobe ColdFusion User Group for Devon in his spare time.

Andy Beer – Creative Developer

Andy has a well deserved reputation for producing stunning visual designs for web sites both large and small. His ability to blend the client’s design brief with his own experience and knowledge has proved to be very popular, bringing even the most challenging ideas to fruition within budget.

Andy is fluent in all the major technologies including Flex, Flash and CSS with special emphasis being placed on accessibly design and other important standards.

Darren Fisher – Creative Developer

Darren has been immersed within the design industry for over 7 years. He brings a high level of professionalism, technical awareness & talent for both print based and increasingly web based projects. The attention to detail applied to every aspect of the design process ensures maximum visual aesthetics.

Darren will frequently be responsible for the design & structure behind Core Express & Commerce Express web sites.

Marketing Specialists

Russell Crisp – Senior Marketing Consultant

Russell Crisp, as well as being Chief Executive of Crisp, is one of Crisp’s Senior Consultants. Russell has over 15 years management consultancy experience and acts as a non executive Director of several client Boards.

Through Russell’s ability to motivate and inspire those around him he has built up the original Consultancy Practice to its current size and diversity. The company now advises on all aspects of Business and Organisational Development, E-Commerce, has a Training Division and continues to advise on Marketing issues all through its subsidiary businesses.

During the last 5 years he has worked extensively in the UK, Europe and the United States helping businesses re-engineer in line with the e-commerce revolution.

Janis Effer – Marketing Consultant

Janis has over twenty years experience in marketing, market research and sales management backed with a BA (Hons) in Business Studies and a Market Research Society Diploma. She is an active member of both the Chartered Institute of Marketing and Market Research Society.

Janis believes in offering creative marketing solutions to suit each specific requirement. Her main strengths are determination, flexibility, tenacity, an enquiring mind and systematic approach to her work. She aims to build relationships with the clients and enjoys the challenges of providing effective marketing/business development solutions.
